Lockport, NY - Sharon A. Roy, of Lockport, NY, entered into rest peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Brompton Heights in Williamsville.

Born April 19, 1938 in Lockport, she was the youngest of five children of Wilson G. and Marguerite E. (Hoffman) Barnes. Sharon grew up on her family farm in Gasport and was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School, Class of 1956. She was sadly widowed at a young age, by her first husband, Walter W. "Bill" Boetcher, Jr. in 1967. A homemaker most of her life, she delighted in being with family and friends. In 1986, she married John Roy, Sr. and together shared many years together. Sharon enjoyed going to lunch with friends, woodworking and gardening.

In addition to her parents and first husband Bill, she was predeceased by her siblings, Wilson (Virginia) Barnes, Jr., Robert (Frieda) Barnes, Emerson (Donna) Barnes and Jane (Kenneth) VanBuren.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, John Roy, Sr.; children, Jill (Douglas) Waz, Sr., John (Barbara) Roy, Jr. and Melissa (Timothy Berbach) Folckemer; grandchildren, Douglas Waz, Jr., Cassandra Waz, Cedar Waz, John (Colleen) Roy III, Michael (Emily) Roy, James (Patrick) Roy, William (Kelly) Folckemer, Erick (Yumi) Folckemer and Elizabeth Folckemer; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 10AM-12PM at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport. Her funeral will immediately follow at 12PM and interment will be in the Huskey Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
