Salvatore P. "Alabama" Licata, of Lockport, entered into rest Saturday, November 23, 2019. Born in Lockport, NY on October 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Buttice) Licata.
Alabama was a retiree of Harrison Radiator. He loved his New York Yankees, and treasured his childhood friends from" Lowertown" as well as his" Friday Knight" card club. During his working years Alabama belonged to the B.P.O.E. #41 and the G-9 Management club.
Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Elizabeth (Spedding) Licata; devoted father of Dr. Betty Jo (Jack Monda ) Licata of Canfield, Ohio, and Joseph A. Licata of Fishers, Indiana; cherished grandfather of Joseph Dominic Monda of New York City, Jack Salvatore Monda of Berlin, Germany, and Mary Elizabeth Monda of New York City; dear brother of the late Angelo Licata, Thomas (late Marie) Licata, Joseph (late Giovanna) Licata, Stella (late Frank) Robison, Josephine (late Iver) Erickson, Mary (late Dr. Louis) (late Clint) Scinta Johnson, Jennie (late Robert) Garlock, and Jessie (late Frank) Lathrop; fond brother-in-law of Mary (late John) DeFilippo and Helen (late James) Spedding; also survived by many nieces and nephews . Friends may call at Provenzano Memorial Chapel, Transit and Niagara Sts. (same location as Taylor& Reynolds Funeral Home) on Saturday, November 30 from 2-4 PM. Funeral service will immediately follow.
