Ronald L. Coulson, age 76 of Lockport, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born December 23, 1940 in Royalton, NY, Ron is the son of the late Ernest and Ruth (McElwain) Coulson.

Ron married Joan Luzader on May 22, 1965 in Lockport, NY. Ron was self-employed, running his company, Ron Coulson Trucking and Excavating, in Lockport for over 50 years. He was in the Niagara County Sheriffs Special Deputy Unit where he flew his plane and worked with the bloodhounds.

Ron enjoyed flying his own plane, a Cherokee 180 out of his friends grass runway on Upper Mountain Road, Lockport. He was an avid stock car enthusiast owning and driving Car #25 at Ransomville Speedway. Ron had a hunting camp in Birdsall, NY where he enjoyed hosting his many friends.

Ron owned a small farm on Chestnut Rd. and small horse stable. He loved the horse farm and all the people associated with it. He also enjoyed fishing in the ponds at the farm.

He was a member of Clinton Street United Methodist Church in Lockport, the Elks Club in Lockport and the Sunrise Optimist Club.

Surviving Ron is his wife, Joan Coulson; and children, Pamela (David) Farley, Ronnie Teter and Timothy Teter; grandfather of Jennifer and Jessica; loving poppy o Mattie and Alex; great-grandfather of Rory, Quinn and Piper; brother of Cheryl (Fred) Yotter and Theresa Russell and the late Gary, Ernest, Richard and Kenneth Coulson. Also survived by several loving brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2-5 PM. Closing prayers will be held at 5 PM.
