Roberta Sue Pritchard (Bentley), age 73, of Newfane, entered into rest on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at North Gate Nursing Home. Born on August 13, 1943 in Lockport, Roberta is the daughter of the late Clifford and Letha (Cooper) Bentley.
Roberta lived in Newfane most of her life. She graduated from Newfane Schools in 1961 and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Buffalo. She worked as a clerical assistant for Lockport City Schools and gave her time to Literacy Volunteers of Niagara County. She designed and made doll clothes and attended many craft shows around Western New York.
Surviving are her children, Kimberly (Sam) Mattina, Julie Wood (Ron Kenyon), Jeff Wood; and her three cats, Millie Girl, Bourbon, and Scotchers; sister of Donna Bentley; grandmother of nine grandchildren; and special friends, Tom Hartley and Linda and Roger Covell.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10 AM at the First Baptist Church of Newfane, 6047 East Avenue, Newfane, NY 14108. Inurnment will be in Corwin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Niagara Hospice or Save-A-Pet.
