Mark K. Cobb Obituary
Lockport, New York - Mark K. Cobb, of the Town of Cambria, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He was 71.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Mark was the beloved son of the late John C. and Jean (née Johnson) Cobb. A proud graduate of Wilson High School's Class of 1972 and earned his associates degree from NCCC. He carried his small town roots through a lifelong career marked by dedication and craftsmanship.
Mark worked at Pfeiffer Foods in Wilson, NY until its closure, then continued his skilled trade as an Industrial Mechanic with Mizkan America, retiring in 2019. Beyond the workplace, he was a man of quiet pursuits and curious spirit. He found joy in reading, watching movies, woodworking, and welding—ever the tinkerer. He even tried his hand at flying airplanes, a testament to his adventurous streak.
At the heart of Mark's life was his family, whom he loved above all else. He deeply missed his dear canine companion, "Moose," but found comfort and happiness in the company of his children and granddaughter. His legacy lives on in those who knew his steady presence and generous heart.
Besides his parents, Mark is predeceased by his dear sister-in-law, Margie Cobb.
Mark is survived by his devoted children, Kevin (Tracy) Cobb, Alan (Brigette Holbert) Cobb, and John Cobb; cherished granddaughter, Krista Cobb; siblings, Craig (Kari) Cobb and Jean E. (Robert A.) McNeal; and beloved nieces and nephews, Lisa, Morgan, Shannon, Ian, Amy, and Andrew. Mark is also survived by his former wife, Gail (nee Ganshaw) Mittelstaedt.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 3-7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville where funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson, NY.
