Fort Walton Beach, FL - Louis (Lou) J. Peca, age 84 of Lockport, NY, passed away on the 22nd of May, 2025. Born June 4th, 1941, in Batavia, NY, he graduated from DeSales Catholic High School in 1958, obtained his BS in Chemistry from Niagara University in 1962 and his MA in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado in 1977. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF in 1963. During the wars in Vietnam and Thailand, he served as a tactical radar controller. Stateside, his assignments included advisor to the 117th Tactical Air Command (TACS) in Savannah, GA, evaluations officer at 129th TACS, Homestead, FL, Command and to USAF Tactical Air Warfare Center at Eglin AFB, FL. After 22 years of service, he retired as a Major in 1984 at Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
Lou is survived by his second wife, Therese Sapone Peca, whom he married in 2012. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony J and Emma Jane (Marotta) and his brothers, John and Thomas. He is survived by his sisters, Paulette (Peca) Pewsey and Kathleen Peca, sister-in-law Yolanda, and several nieces and nephews.
Lou was buried in Florida on June 10th with full military honors and a 21-gun salute.
