Lockport, New York - Kenneth E. Hastings, II, of Lockport, NY, passed away July 1, 2025. He was born in Tallman, NY, on December 19, 1940, the son of the late Kenneth E. and Dolly Ann (Heuvel) Hastings, I.
Ken graduated from Newark College of Engineering, and he received his doctorate in chemical engineering from Michigan State University. He was Director of Research at Cities Service (Citgo) in Tulsa, OK. He also worked for Exxon and Foster Wheeler in NJ and Aramco in Saudi Arabia.
Ken is survived by Susan Hastings and his children Kenneth (Clarissa) Hastings, Kathryn Hastings, Jonathan (Eileen) Hastings, and his grandchildren Mary Clara Hastings (Brandon Gregory), Susan Kathryn Hastings (Austin Williamson), Benjamin Hastings, and his great-grandchildren Heiress Hastings and Caramia Williamson, as well as his good friend Audry Kenyon.
Ken will be remembered for being a good father, being very smart and accomplished while also being very humble, winning a trip as a young man to meet Henry Ford II for selling the most newspaper subscriptions, his love of fishing at the Jersey Shore, going to movies he loved over and over, his dedication to his children's activities and sports, being a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa, taking his children to Roughneck soccer games, and in his last years, his love for going out for Mexican food and to the Drive-In.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
