James G. Wilson Obituary
James G. Wilson, of Middleport, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side. Born in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, a son of the late James C. and Dorothy (Jones) Wilson.
James served in the US Army during Korea and Vietnam, retiring in 1982 after 22 years of service. He holds the Bronze Star, United Nations Medal, Korean Service Medal with three Battle Stars and the Vietnam Service Medal with three Battle Stars.
After his military service he went to work for the State Department of Corrections, working at Albion Correctional Facility retiring after 20 years. James also worked for 15 years as a part-time police officer for the Village of Middleport. He traveled the world with his wife Sally and loved to snowmobile and enjoy their cottage in Canada.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by son, James D. Wilson and three brothers.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Salicia; children John (Keri) Wilson, Linda Wilson, Tom (Amanda) Wilson, Brenda Brierly, Martha (Eric) Owens, Alicia Austin, Jean Smith, Rosalie Bailor, Laurie Kelley-Rice; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, Thursday, August 10th 4:00pm-7:00pm. His graveside service and Military Honors will be held Friday at 10:00am at St. Stephen's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice.
