Spokane, Washingotn - It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Gertrude "Trudy" Barlow O'Rielly, who left us peacefully on April 16, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born at home in the Town of Hartland, New York, Trudy was the beloved daughter of Lillian (Donohue) and Frasier Barlow. She made her home in Lockport, New York, where she spent the majority of her life — a steady, graceful presence in her family and friends.

Trudy devoted more than 65 years to her career as a legal secretary, demonstrating unwavering professionalism, precision, and grace. Only taking a ten-year hiatus to raise her four daughters, then returned to the field with characteristic energy and commitment. She was a charter member and former President of the Niagara County Legal Secretaries Association, where she was known for her leadership, mentorship, and the deep respect she earned from her colleagues.

She had a zest for life and an adventurous spirit, especially when it came to travel. Whether by plane, train, or automobile, Trudy loved exploring new places with her family and friends. She also cherished quiet joys — afternoons playing cards, especially Bridge, and peaceful moments on the shores of Lake Ontario.

Trudy was predeceased by her siblings, Esther Barlow Jackson, Hugh Barlow, and Edward Barlow, as well as her nieces Judy, Jane, Betty, Tina, Meg and Mary.

She is survived by her four daughters, Susan "Lily" O'Rielly, Sharon O'Rielly McDirmid (late Stephen), Robin Stork, and Patricia O'Rielly; five grandchildren, Jamie McDirmid (Mary), Mollie McDirmid (Matt Glew), Melissa Hulshoff Bird (Chris), Matthew Kopera, and Joseph Stork and four great-grandchildren, Aedan Bird, Corbin Bird, Charlie McDirmid, and Ruth McDirmid. She also leaves behind her devoted niece and nephew, Katherine Paine (Leonard) and Harry "Jack" Jackson, along with loving friends, extended family including Shannon Stork Patterson (Paul), Sue Robillard and those whose lives she brightened with her presence.

Please join the family for a memorial service on July 13th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Danny Sheehan's Steak House, 491 West Avenue, Lockport, New York, to celebrate and honor Trudy's remarkable life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Trudy's memory to a charity of one's choice.

Trudy's legacy of kindness, resilience, quick wit, leadership, and love will live on in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
