George W. Soemann Obituary
George W. Soemann, age 93 of Appleton, NY passed away on March 15, 2025. He was born October 2, 1931 and was the husband of 70 years to Marilyn (nee Gademsky) Soemann. Father of Jay (Dee Dee) Soemann and Peter (Gail) Soemann and two grandchildren Melodie and Jeremie (Kate) Soemann. Brother of Walter Soemann and the late Clinton Soemann, Winston and Merwyn Coons and Elizabeth Abell.
George graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1950 and served two years in Korea during the Korean War. He graduated from SUNY at Buffalo in 1964 with a Master of Science Degree and was an Industrial Arts Teacher for 28 years. He was a member of many civic organizations having served three terms as President of Niagara Hose Fire Company and Tonawanda Firemen's Benevolent Association, also a Life member of American Legion Post 264, VFW and the Korean War Veterans Association.
After relocating to Appleton, NY in 1963, he served as President of Newfane Board of Education for three years. A master watchmaker, he was associated with and owner of Walker Bros. & Monroe Jewelers since 1944. His son Jay now owns the business. The family will be present on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4-7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts) City of Tonawanda, where a memorial service will be conducted at 7 PM following the visitation. Everyone welcome to attend.
