Ethel Tatarka Obituary

Ethel Tatarka passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, following a short illness. Born July 11, 1936, in Lockport NY, Ethel is the daughter of: Floyd and Doris (Foster) Bidleman. She is predeceased by her husband, Francis T. Tatarka. Beloved mother of: Thomas E. Butler of Amherst, NY; and James (Jackie) Butler of Havelock, NC. Grandmother of: Glen, Lisa, Brian and Kevin Butler great-grandmother of three. Dear sister of Gary (Pearl) Bidleman, William Bidleman, Clayton (Barbara) Bidleman, Albert Bidleman and Martin Bidleman. She was predeceased by her brothers, Floyd (late Violet) Bidleman, Donald Bidleman, Harold Bidleman, John Bidleman and sister Gail Doris Hallatt. Ethel enjoyed collecting antiques, travel, gardening, home-making, and spending time with friends and family. Ethel enjoyed a career as a nurse in Lockport and Newfane hospitals for over 25 years. Ethel's positive and caring persona is often recalled by former medical colleagues and patients.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 10 - 11 am with the funeral following at 11:00 am from the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Batavia, NY.
