Newfane, New York - Donald Benjamin Pohl, died on Thursday, October 30, 2025 in Newfane. Born June 29, 1932, in Lockport, NY, he was 93.

Donald was a graduate of DeSales Catholic School in Lockport, NY. Following his education, he served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Donald dedicated many years as a production worker with GM Harrison Radiator in Lockport. Outside of his professional life, Donald was a member of St. Brendan's on the Lake R.C. Church in Newfane, where he actively participated in the church community and made numerous cherished friends.

Donald enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, playing cards with friends, hunting, and tending to his farm. His farming endeavors included raising over 20 head of cattle and diligently growing hay to feed them.

Above all, Donald's greatest pride was his family. He raised six children with love and dedication. He is survived by his daughters: Dyann (Daniel) Moran of Gasport, Cyndia Sandolfini of Appleton, and Ava Jeanine (Robert) Sandolfini of Barker; his son Benjamin Pohl of Newfane; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Clare Pohl, his beloved wife Onalee, his children Gerald Pohl and Aleta Sandolfini, and his sister Madelyn Bennett.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the calling hours at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport, NY, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 9 am to 11 am. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Brendan on the Lake R.C. Church, 3433 Ewings Road, Newfane, NY, Thursday November 6, 2025 at 12:00 pm, with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Barker.
