Jay, ME - After enjoying a fulfilling life of some 88 years Colleen left the physical world for her next adventure into the spiritual world, Monday, Feb. 24, 2025. Colleen lived a full and prosperous life starting out on her grandfather's 36-acre farm in Lockport, NY where Colleen met her new life partner Randall D. Hodge who was a neighbor of Colleen's; unbeknownst to them both, that the other was doing furniture restoration too. This proved to be a long-lasting partnership that lasted 28 years and included retirement in Maine for the last 9 years.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel L. and Kaylene (nee Seelenbinder) Mathews and Paul F. & Kristina M. (nee Gold) Mathews; grandchildren Taylor, Alec, Hannah, Cody, Morgan & Ryan; daughter-in-law, Suann M. (nee Claude) Mathews; Predeceased by son Timothy M. Mathews; husband Patrick W. Mathews; sister Pauline (nee Bower) Gardea; brother-in-law Nick E. Gardea.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 18 at 10:30am from St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6919 Transit Road, East Amherst, New York 14051. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery, 8231 County Road, Swormville, NY. Memories may be shared on her memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com. Wiles Remembrance Center of Jay is honored to have provided cremation care.
