Lockport, NY - Carl J. Layer passed away on April 9th, 2026 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He was born on January 31st,1940 to parents Paul and Cornelia (Keller) Layer. Carl served in the Marine Corp from 1960 until 1966. He worked for 33 years as a Test Technician at Harrison Radiator in Lockport until he retired in 2006. Carl was a devout member of St. Mary's and then All Saints Catholic Churches. He was often seen at Eucharistic Adorations and worked at the All Saints Food Pantry.

Carl is predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Edgar) Layer who passed away on February 4th, 2015. He is also predeceased by his siblings Paul (Late Loretta) Layer, Elizabeth (Late Daniel) Hogan, Rita (Late John) Kovach, Lois (Late Vincent) Lardner and Theresa Layer.

Carl is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, April 16th from 4PM-7PM at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, NY 14094. A mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Friday, April 17th at 10AM at All Saints RC Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport, NY 14094. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lockport. In Lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the All Saint's Food Pantry 814 Willow St., Lockport, NY 14094.
