Burton Stanley Coleman Obituary

Pembroke Pines, FL - Burton Stanley Coleman, born February 7, 1930, in Burt, New York, passed on April 14, 2026, after a long and happy life with family & friends.

He wore a number of hats over the years: plane mechanic in the Navy; teacher to those who needed patience most; small business owner; and a handyman who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed harmonizing with his brother and even made a record. He was creative and artistic, making paintings of family that hung on his walls. Burt traveled widely, voted faithfully, cheered for the Bills, Marlins, and Dolphins with conviction, and was passionate about golf and fishing. Burt also enjoyed card games with family and friends, playing and winning at Cribbage up to the end. Burt left a road map for us all to live life at its fullest.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie Mathews and C. Stanley Coleman, his twin brother Bruce, three sisters, his wife Carol, daughter Marcia, and grandson Ryan. He leaves behind his daughter Diana (Paul), granddaughter Erin (Rob), great-granddaughter Teya, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank his devoted caregivers and Hospice staff. Donations can be made to a pet shelter or to a Hospice organization in his honor.
