Melva Elene (Carrigan)'s Story
Melva Elene (Carrigan) Bull passed on May 7, 2017 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital with her family at her side. Born in Wilson on November 11, 1919, she is the daughter of the late James Demont and Pearl Onolle (Biggins) Carrigan.
A Wilson High School graduate, her class was the first in the new building in 1936. On June 6, 1941 she married Edward Elmer 'Ted' Bull. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star she joined in1939 and took part in it for 70 plus years. Also a life member of Exley United Methodist Church, she enjoyed couples bowling, camping with family and friends, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and traveling.
Surviving are her children, Barbara Branch of Ransomville, Bruce (Irene) Bull of Wilson, Diane Bull of Ontario, CA; grandchildren, Lisa, Bruce, Kelli, Candi, Traci, and Kristi; also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 PM at the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson. Funeral Services will be Friday at 11 AM in Exley United Methodist Church on Lake Street, Wilson.
