Jane C. Bayer, age 87, a Pendleton resident for 59 years, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2017 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. She was born in Tonawanda on September 2, 1929, daughter of the late Archie and Christina Cook.
Mrs. Bayer was a 1947 graduate of Lockport High School, she was a self taught floral arranger, working with Lewis Flower Shop and then Jones the Florist. She loved to knit and would make items for the maternity unit at Lockport Hospital and for Save a Pet.
Beloved wife of 66 years to John L. Bayer; loving mother of John C. (Sylvia), Jeanne and the late Joel L. Bayer; devoted grandmother of Christopher, Timothy and Michael Bayer, Jessica Henson and Sara Perry; great-grandmother of seven; sister of Ruth Hall, late Elizabeth Reeves and late Stanley Cook; dearest friend of Pat Grear and the late Joanne Mullins.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday from 4-6 PM in the WATTENGEL FUNERAL HOME, 533 Meadow Dr., North Tonawanda. Private graveside service and burial, Evangelical Protestant Cemetery, Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.
