The Schotz Family moved to Wilson in 1939 where Howard Schotz began produce farming. Jim had two passions in life, one being farming. Jim's other passion was the South Wilson Volunteer Fire Department, where he was a founding member in 1952. Jim again served in many leadership capacities at SWFC, including being a long serving Assistant Chief and the standing President of the Fire Department. Many would remember Jim as the ticket taker during Lenten brunches. Jim also served on the Town of Wilson Assessment Board of Review for nearly 40 years.
