Craig A. Stevenson of South Dennis, MA, died January 9, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Lockport, NY, to Ann (Walker) Anderson and Ronald Stevenson. He was educated in the Lockport school system and later went on to receive his B.S. in Law Enforcement from Western New England University.
He married Shirlee Gondek on the Bass Hole Boardwalk in Yarmouth in 1985, and together they have four children, Geoffrey, Daniel, Timothy and Shelby. Craig was also the proud and loving grandfather of Oliver Stevenson.
He also leaves behind his sister, Marcy; his nieces, Jessie and Jaime; and is survived by his mother, Ann Anderson; and his step-mother, Linda Stevenson. He was predeceased by his father, Ronald Stevenson.
He was a long time police officer with the Dennis Police Department where he attained the rank of Sergeant. It was with the police department that he found his passion for helping those in need, and lived his life in service to others. He was a man of the community and loved by many.
Visitation will be held at Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 260 Main Street (Route 28), West Harwich, MA, on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 1:00 -3:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
