Adeline (Adele) Irene's Story
This is not an ordinary obituary as Adeline (Adele) D'Auria was not an ordinary Lady. Adele's life began on January 19, 1928, born to John and Bertha Barczak. Her siblings were Eleanor (Daniel) Bork, Norman (Lorri) Barczak, Jeanette (Louis) Shelley and Ronald (Elaine) Barczak. Adele married Philip D'Auria on August 30, 1947. Their happy life began in Buffalo, NY. They were blessed with the births of Michael, Philip and Cynthia. The family relocated to Lockport in 1962.
Adele worked for Montgomery Ward as a purchaser until she retired. After retirement Adele and Phil became very involved in Eastern Star and Amaranth, both of which are Fraternal Masonic organizations. In Amaranth, Adele became Grand Royal Matron for the State of New York traveling the US and Canada making friends everywhere they visited.
Phil passed away in 1997 and Adele's life changed. New endeavors were made joining Curves, breakfasts at Panera and Friday Garage Sales with the Java Girls.
Adele's pride and joy were her grandchildren, Cheryl (Aaron) Rozek, Benjamin (Michelle) Weber, Andria King, Kristen (Scott) Simon, Michael D'Auria and Brian (Angela) D'Auria. She was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Eric, Alexandra, Brendan, Benjamin, Nathan, Ethan, Nicholas, Lauren, Brooke, Dylan and Chelsea.
Family meant so very much to Adele and she was very proud of hers. On May 19, 2017 at the age of 89, Adele left this world peacefully at home to join her loved ones in heaven. Her ultimate gift was to UB Anatomical Department to help "Teach Doctors".
A Celebration of Life for Adele will be held on June 25, 2017 at 5516 Hartford Dr., Lockport. Memorial offerings are welcomed and may be made to Niagara Hospice Inc., 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094. We would like to thank the staff of Niagara Hospice for their support, guidance and dedication.
