William's Story

William J. Gibson of Williamsville, NY, passed away suddenly on August 16th at his home. He was born on June 20, 1942 to Alice and Robert Gibson in Rochester, NY. Bill was raised in Avon, NY and was a longtime resident of the Buffalo area.
He is survived by his devoted daughters, Wendy Gibson (Peter Constantakes) of Albany, NY and Marin Gibson (Ray Martinez) of Port Monmouth, NJ; and by his brothers, Thomas Gibson (Christine) and John Gibson (Anna). He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Bobby. He leaves beloved nieces and nephews, Lindsay Gibson-Hooper, Leslie Gibson and Robbie Gibson; Anthony, Scott and Carlene DelleFave; Ian Conners and Elizabeth Conners Cake, special grand-nieces, grand-nephews and a beloved circle of cousins who along with his brothers, were his partners in crime. Bill is survived by his former wife, Molly McKeown, He was predeceased by Sandra Hope. He is also survived by close friend, Christie Scott; and longtime friend, Ed Malinowski.
He was a sales engineer for Emerson & Renwick. Bill was charismatic, a great storyteller, a life-long car and truck enthusiast, avid reader and friend to all.
The family will be present on Sunday from 3-5 PM and on Monday from 10 AM-12 PM (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins Rd.) A private family interment will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to: Avon Central School Memorial Scholarship Fund, 191 Clinton Street, Avon, NY, 14414, to fund the Frank Moran Memorial Scholarship. In the alternative, you may wish to honor Bill by topping off windshield fluid and checking tire pressure and tread depth on the cars of those you love - as he did, at every opportunity.
