Ronald L. Shoop passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2017 at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was a family man at heart who enjoyed auto racing with his sons where he was pit crew chief. Together they won several track championships in the Prostock Division at both Ransomville and Merrittville Speedways. He spent many hours at Spina's Engine Shop. He also enjoyed bowling, playing his guitar, and camping at Letchworth State Park. He owned Shoop's Kendall Service in Pekin before moving on to work as a Master Technician at Heinrich Chevrolet for 38 years. Ron was a jack of all trades who could build or fix just about anything.
Beloved husband of 56 years of Joanne (nee Jowdy); devoted father of Randall (Laurel) Shoop, Daniel (Cheryl) Shoop, Christine (Jeffrey) Albright, and Kimberly (Joseph) Treanor. Also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; grand puppy, Hollywood, was always by his side as a loving companion and protector until Ron joined his Heavenly Father.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-11 AM, followed by a memorial service and meal at Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Rd., Lockport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice.
