Robert Lee Fisher, Sr., of Toccoa, Georgia, formerly of Newfane, New York for several years, entered into rest on June 12th, 2017 due to a long-time illness. Born in Spring Mills, Pennsylvania on February 9, 1933 to the late Elmer and Nancy Fisher. He is the husband of the late Nancy Fisher.
Robert worked at Upsons Paper Mill and retired from Emil Von Dungen's Steel Fabrication. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Robert enjoyed his summers in Westport, Pennsylvania, where he had many friends and family, where he spent most of his younger years. He also enjoyed doing lawn care and landscaping in his spare time. He enjoyed traveling back to New York every summer to see his children, grandchildren and sister, and many friends from this area.
Beloved father of Tina, Robert, Jr., Tammy and Melissa. Beloved grandfather of Thomas, Andrew, Joshua and Hannah, and his late grandson, Jason. Survived by his sister, Bessie Fleisher and the late Robert Fleisher of Lockport, New York, and sister, Louise Conway of Clearfield, PA. Brother of the late Charles Fisher, Harry Fisher, Glen Fisher, James Bluebell, Mary Haws and Racheal Parker. Also survived by a special friend and caregiver from Toccoa, Georgia. Survived by several nieces, and nephews.
Graveside Military Memorial Service at Corwin Cemetery will be on Saturday July, 1st, 2017 at 2:00 PM followed by a celebration of his life at the Newfane Community Center preceding the service, located at 2737 Main Street, Newfane, NY 14108.
