Robert "Bob" Burgio

August 20, 1934 - March 07, 2019

Robert Bob Burgio Robert "Bob" Burgio, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born to Gasper and Esther Burgio on August 20, 1934 in Depew, NY.
Bob was blessed with 47 years of marriage to Betty (Miller) Burgio (1931-2003). Bob and Betty worked side by side at their business, "Burgio Tire Company," before he retired after 52 years and passed along the company their grandsons.
Together they had two daughters, Julie Procaccini and Joya Burgio; four grandchildren, Brandon Fitch, Nick Fitch, Liz Shinn and Giovanni Procaccini; and two great-grandchildren, TJ Truskey and Jameson Friars.
Bob was full of life and found much happiness with Donna (Munzel) Quiett-Burgio following their marriage in July 2014. He shared many memories with his step family: step-children, Connie Quiett (Scott) Turner of Schuylerville, NY, James Quiett of Jacksonville, FL, Andrew (Sonia) Quiett of Melbourne, FL; step-grandchildren, Dillon Quiett of Barker, NY, Triston Turner of Rochester (RIT), NY, Kristiana and Alexander Quiett of Jacksonville, FL.
If you asked his grandsons they would say, "Grandpa was a different breed and they don't make that model anymore." If you asked his family what was one thing they will miss most they definitely would say his hugs. He had a distinctive sense of humor enjoyed by all who knew him. He was always either dreaming up or working on one of his projects, spanning from building a tree house, stone and tile work, carpentry, the "pool room," repurposing antiques and building/adding to his house... he really was a "jack of all trades."
He took great pride in his every growing display of Christmas lights and his meticulous yard. He had an enormous heart and got so much pleasure from giving to those in need and surprising his family and friends with gifts of love. He took pride in his Italian heritage right down to his "famous" meatballs and sauce. He had a stellar work ethic and so much energy most of us found it impossible to keep up with him. And let's not forget Annie and Precious, his furry little Pomeranians, who he adored and spoiled way over the top.
Services will be held Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 AM at East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 E Shelby Rd., Medina, NY, with lunch immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Shelby Community Bible Church or your favorite charity.
Please visit to send the family a condolence.
