Nancy I. (Spencer)'s Story

Nancy I. (Spencer) Carpenter, age 79 of Lockport, died on Saturday, September 23rd, 2017 in Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. Nancy was born on March 28th, 1938 in Lockport, NY, the daughter of Harald E. Spencer and Estelle Merrill.
Before retiring in 2005, Nancy worked as a health care aide and school crossing guard. Nancy enjoyed gardening, tending to her property and caring for her many pet dogs and cats.
She was preceded into death by sister, Jennie Kimble; sister, Carolyn Spencer; husband, Bertram Carpenter; and her son, Michael Coker. She is survived by her son, Dr. David Coker and his wife Marielle de Swart, of London, England; grandchildren, Peter Coker of Middleport, New York, and Rebecca Deboard-Lake of Albion, New York; six great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 9-11 AM on Saturday at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara St., where the Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM. Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.
