Margaret's Story

Margaret Grace 'Bunnie' Austin of the Town of Porter passed away December 23rd at Niagara Hospice in Lockport at the age of 90.
She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on June 2, 1927, the oldest of 11 children to Rose (Lewis) and Edward Mulligan.
She grew up on Third Avenue in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and attended school at St. Patrick's. She married Harold Austin on June 23, 1956, and moved to the Town of Porter, where they raised six children.
She was predeceased by her husband and son, Daniel, and is survived by five children, Mary Rose (Edward) Albrigo, Rebecca, Stephen, Lawrence, and Andrew. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Erica, Stephen, Christopher Albrigo, Will and Layne Simescu.
Also surviving are sisters, Joan (Al) Collins and Maureen (Garth) Tustin and her brother Brian (Marcella) Mulligan. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Anne Nicholson, Eileen Burns and Rosemary Newe; and four brothers, Robert, John, Edward, and James Mulligan.
She was cared for by Niagara Hospice as well a caregiver, Sharon Kraft.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 AM on Thursday, December 28th, at St. Bernard's R.C. Church, 218 Hinman St., in Youngstown, with Msgr. David G. LiPuma officiating. Interment will follow at North Ridge Cemetery in Cambria. There is no prior visitation.
