Kenneth C. Johnson of Catawba, NC, passed away after a brief illness on January 3, 2018. He was born in Lockport, NY on November 12, 1958, the son of Dean M. Johnson and Jane B. Johnson.
He graduated from Lockport Senior High School in June 1976. He attended Alfred State College and the SUNY College of Technology at Utica, graduating with degrees in CAD design and engineering. Ken began his career at Trico in Buffalo, NY. He relocated to North Carolina in 1989 and worked in the manufacture of automobile parts utilizing powdered metals. His most recent employment was with GKN Driveline in Newton, NC.
Ken had many interests including photography, ham and CB radios, skiing, scuba diving, go-kart racing and his Harleys. While fond of Lockport, he loved the blue skies of his home in North Carolina.
Ken was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Judy (Nicholas Paonessa) of Niagara Falls; and a niece, Holly Granat of Syracuse. He has two half-sisters, Christy Johnson Kent and Kathleen Kirch of Chesapeake, VA.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th at 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pets Alive WNY, 7007 Campbell Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
