John 'Jack''s Story
John 'Jack' Henning passed away peacefully on October 20, 2017, in Victorville, California with his family by his side. Jack was a student of life and taught us much about life, love and happiness. A 1967 graduate of DeSales Catholic High School, Jack enjoyed living in Lockport and Olcott, NY, many locations in Colorado, including Grand Junction, several locations in California, including Wrightwood and in Bracciano, Italy with his wife Lucia. From early adventures at Camp Dittmer to pruning olive orchards in Italy with his Italian 'family', the course Jack chartered was steered by his strong personal instincts and convictions. His spirit of exploration and his appreciation of nature's simple blessings, enriched Jack and those near him. His sense of wellness and positive thinking, continue to inspire. He was a 'Jack' of all trades. He was an accomplished plumber, and a technician for solar systems, sound systems, and hot tub projects. He enjoyed carving and whittling. He loved good food and music, had fond memories of attending Woodstock, and relished the deep friendships he had.
Jack is survived by his wife, Lucia De Amicis of Bracciano, Italy; his brothers, Paul (Carol) of Honeoye, NY, James (Denise) of Grand Junction, CO; his sisters, Mary Elaine (Kevin) Spitler of Buffalo NY, Ann (Phil) Larkin of Hilton NY, Elizabeth O'Neill (Daniel Bower) of Rochester NY; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist RC Church at 168 Chestnut St. in Lockport, NY, on Friday November 24, 2017, at 11 AM
