Jean A. Wittcop passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lockport on September 29, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Rodger and Margaret Vorholzer Bedford.
Jean worked at Harrison Radiator and was a member of the Hartland United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Deborah Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Jean is predeceased by her husband, Lewis J. Wittcop, who passed away on May 2, 2012. Jean was the mother of Norma (Steven) Sturtevant, Elizabeth (John) Seib, Laura (John) Werth, Rodger (Carol) Wittcop, Denise Caton, Roseann (Joseph) Heitzenrater, Brian (Sarah) Wittcop, and the late Cheryl (Johann) Feuersanger and Terrance (Judy) Wittcop; grandfather of 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Roger (Veronica) Bedford, Raymond (Jacqueline) Bedford, Phyllis (late Dennis) Darling, Janet (late Paul) Barger and the late James (late Alice) Bedford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 1-5 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where services will immediately follow at 5 PM. Memorials to the Room to Dream Foundation, 1188 Centre St., Newton, MA 02459, would be appreciated by the family.
