James L. Fox of Lockport, NY, died peacefully in Hospice care on Monday, September 18, 2017.
Jim was born January 2, 1941, son of William and Charlotte Fox.
Jim, as he was known to nearly everyone, grew up in Cheektowaga and Barker, NY and joined the Marine Corp at the age of 17. Jim trained as a paratrooper and ranger, served in Force Reconnaissance, a Marine Corps special operations unit, and was stationed in Guantanamo Bay during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
After the Marines, Jim returned home and to school, graduated from UB Law School, and practiced law in his office on Transit Rd. for over 40 years. When at home, he could usually be found sitting at his table next to a picture window that overlooks the woods and hayfields along Miller Road.
Jim was predeceased by a brother, John Fox; and is survived by two sons, Matthew and Christopher (Kelli); a daughter, Lori (Allen) Sauers; and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Richard (Diane) and William (Bonnie); a sister, Jane (late Robert) Schumacher; a sister-in-law, Carol Fox; along with many close friends.
At Jim's request, his body was donated to the UB Anatomical Gift Program.

A remembrance gathering will be held at his home, 5997 Miller Road, Lockport on Saturday, October 14th from 2 PM until 8 PM.
