J. Phillip's Story
Phillip Morgan, 87, died peacefully at his home in Florida, on January 26, 2016, after a brief illness. Born in Lockport, NY to James P. and Caroline (Carrie) Macdonald Morgan in 1928.
After graduating from Lockport High School, he went on to pursue further training for Christian Ministry at Nyack Bible Institute, NY, and Stetson University, Florida. While studying at Nyack, he met and married June Snyder of Pennsylvania. They remained happily together for 66 years.
Phillip went on to pastor churches on Block Island, RI, Daytona Beach and New Smyrna Beach in Florida. In 1985, his ministry expanded as he became a popular regional conference and seminar leader, which, along with his excellent teaching ability and lively sense of humor, brought audiences of both young and old. Speaking engagements took him throughout the U.S., Canada and the Bahamas, continuing until 2012, when poor health forced him, reluctantly, to retire.
Some of his messages are on the internet through Voices for Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents and a special grandfather, William G. Morgan, of volley ball fame.
Survivors are his loving wife, June; and brother, David, of Florida; also many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Services and burial were held at Bellevue Memorial Park, Daytona Beach, FL.
