My life is but a weaving
Between my Lord and me
I cannot choose the colors
Nor all the pattern see.
Sometimes, He allows sorrow
And, I, in foolish pride -
Forget He sees the upper,
But, I, the underside.
Not 'til the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly
Will He reveal the pattern
Or explain the reason why
the dark threads were as needful
In the weaver's skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern he had planned..

Nate, I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. Take strength from your friends and family now, that’s what they’re for and remember that your loved. One of my favorite quotes is from Hemingway, “ the world breaks everyone and afterwards we’re stronger at the broken places”.
