Donna Mae Pettit

Donna Mae (Reed) Pettit went home to be with the Lord October 18, 2018 with her family at her side. Born December 22, 1927 in Wilson, NY, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances (Schrader) Reed.
She worked the family farm on Braley Road which is how she met her husband, Sidney Pettit, whom she married November 14, 1947 in the First Baptist parsonage. A 1945 graduate of Wilson High School, Donna worked for the Wilson Post Office for 32 years retiring in 1987. She also worked at McPherson's Pharmacy and Doug Goldies store. A 70-year member of the Wilson First Baptist Church, she enjoyed bible study, taught Sunday school, worked on all the committees and did the flowers for the church. A founding member of Lake Shore Mothers Club and a life member of the Wilson Historical Society, Donna was an avid ceramic maker who loved flowers, gardening and arranging flowers.
Surviving are two sons, Gary and Rodney Pettit; a daughter, Carol (David) Chase; grandsons, Matthew (Gina) Chase, Patrick Chase; and great-grandson, Benjamin; siblings, Shirley (Kenneth) Beyer, and Larry Reed. Also her beloved Golden Retriever, Gooder. She loved all her animals dearly. Predeceasing besides her husband, Elvina Sevik.
Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM in the First Baptist Church of Wilson. hamiltonclarkonline.com.

So sorry for your loss. Donna was such a wonderful person. When I went to the post office she always had a smile. Blessings to all of you.

I'm so sorry for the loss is your mother and grandmother. When my own mother passed, it was a blessing due to her long illness but she is still missed all these years later. My best friend's mom told me that we will always miss our mom no matter how old we are. Just know that your pain will change in different ways but never go away completely. Bless you all
